My name is Adel Gascoigne, and I am an award winning sugar artist and life long baker 'The Yorkshire cake company' brings together nostalgia, tradition and decades of expertise in the art of cake, lovingly crafted from the heart of Yorkshire.
From exquisite, bespoke celebration cakes and gifts to traditional Yorkshire treats with a twist I create handcrafted, indulgent treats celebrating both artistry and flavour that brings you a taste of home from God’s Own Country.

From rich brownies and buttery biscuits to classic treats like parkin, our 'Yummies' are made for sharing (or not!). Baked with love, and sent directly to your door; Perfect for a friends birthday, a loved one as a reminder you're thinking of them or simply to yourself - just because, well why not!

With over 20 years of experience in crafting show-stopping cakes, I have honed my skills in sugar artistry, cake design and classic baking techniques.
As a member of the 'British Sugar Craft Guild' I blend technical precision with creative flair, ensuring every occasion is as delicious as it is beautiful.
My background in Nutrition, food science, art and design as well as hospitality means I not only understand the magic of baking but also the science behind it.
Whether it is a meticulously designed wedding cake or a batch of buttery spiced Yorkshire parkin, each creation is made with passion, local quality ingredients and a touch of Yorkshire charm.

Baking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It started in my Nana's kitchen, where the scent of warm gingerbread and fresh cupcakes filled the air. I’d watch, wide-eyed, as she mixed, shaped, and baked—turning simple ingredients into something magical. My mum had the same gift, spending hours crafting tiny sugar figures from Jane Asher cake books, showing me that cake wasn’t just food—it was art, love, and storytelling.
As a mum myself, baking became a way to connect with my boys—one hand in the mixing bowl, the other shaping leftover biscuit dough into ramps for their toy cars, leaving floury trails and happy chaos in our kitchen. These moments, filled with laughter and nostalgia, inspired The Yorkshire Cake Company.
My bakes celebrate bold Yorkshire flavours, generous portions, and true craftsmanship. I create bespoke cakes that bring dreams to life in sugar and sponge, alongside Yorkshire market boxes filled with nostalgic treats, because everyone deserves a taste of home.
